A collection of 3 four-way repeating patterns that inspired by my childhood garden. This collection was created in memory of my grandfather and the childhood explorations we had in our garden. Every fall, my grandfather and I would wait under the towering persimmon trees in our garden for the ripe fruit to fall down, mindful of the occupied beetles that were always scuttling below. The white chrysanthemum, persimmon, and beetle are all symbols of transformation and longevity and through these motifs I hope to commemorate the quiet moments of happiness that I shared with my grandfather. Motifs are hand pointed with gouache and acrylic and then composed and revised in Adobe photoshop. Colorway is produced using NedGraphics.
